According to the county on the 24th, following the occurrence of Jeonbuk case number 229 (a staff member at Yeongsan Seonhak University) on the morning of the previous day, 83 contacts underwent specimen collection and testing requests, and as a result of epidemiological investigations, 3 individuals were confirmed positive.
The 3 confirmed cases, classified as Jeonnam cases 362 to 364, occurred among one student at Yeongsan Seonhak University and two individuals at the Yeongsan Seonhak University monastery, and are presumed to have been infected through contact with Jeonbuk case number 229.
Jeonbuk case number 229 is a contact of case number 225 in Jeonbuk (a nurse at Wonkwang University), who is their spouse.
The three confirmed cases, Jeonnam 362 to 364, were transferred to Gangjin Medical Center the previous night.
The county is identifying movement paths and contacts through epidemiological investigations, and is determining detailed specific routes of confirmed contacts based on CCTV, mobile phone, GPS, and credit card usage records.
The movement paths identified so far include ▲Yeongsan Seonhak University ▲24-hour Haesoo Sauna Jjimjilbang in Beopseong-myeon ▲Mimi Restaurant in Beopseong-myeon ▲Taeneung Galbi in Yeonggwang-eup ▲Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Main Branch in Yeonggwang-eup.
Eight locations visited by confirmed cases overnight have been disinfected, and the remaining one location is scheduled to be disinfected by the morning of the day.
All additional contacts will have specimens collected by the morning and tests requested at the Health and Environment Research Institute.
Test results are expected to be released in the evening of the same day, and notifications will be provided via disaster text messages and the website as soon as results are available.
