[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] DB Insurance announced on the 24th that it presented a plaque of appreciation and a cash reward to Lee Hee-bong, CEO of Anseong Bukbu Service, and employee emergency dispatch agent Jo Young-jae, who saved the life of a driver who lost consciousness and stopped their vehicle on the 19th.
Jo, who works as an emergency dispatch agent for DB Insurance, received a dispatch request around 5 p.m. on the 10th. While en route, he noticed a vehicle that did not move even after the traffic signal changed. Upon checking, he discovered that the driver was unconscious and not breathing.
Lee Hee-bong, the CEO of Jo’s affiliated company, was informed of the situation and immediately called 119 emergency services before running directly to the scene, which was about 10 meters away.
Before the arrival of the paramedics, the two performed emergency measures such as artificial respiration for about 10 minutes under the instructions of the control center. The driver, who was transported to the hospital, fortunately regained consciousness thanks to the prompt emergency response.
In an interview after the plaque presentation, CEO Lee said, "Anyone witnessing such a crisis would act the same way," adding, "Especially as someone whose job is to provide dispatch services, I firmly believe that we must not ignore such situations." He continued, "DB Insurance values people before vehicles, so this was a natural action to take together," and concluded, "I will always remember the company’s corporate values and personally practice them going forward."
