Selection of Participants for Changwon Smart Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Construction Project
Establishment of Smart Energy Platform Including Cloud-Based Factory Energy Management System
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Nuri Telecom, an energy Internet of Things (IoT) solution developer, announced on the 23rd that it will participate as a business operator in the "Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Construction" project, one of the major projects of the government's Green New Deal "Smart Green Industrial Complex."
Nuri Telecom will be responsible for key areas of building the smart energy platform as a participating company in the Changwon Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Construction project, including hydrogen fuel cells, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) construction, peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading, and integration with cloud-based Factory Energy Management System (FEMS). The Changwon Smart Industrial Complex project is led by SK Construction, with Nuri Telecom and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute among others, and is scheduled to be carried out until December 2022.
The Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Construction project aims to build an RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) platform utilizing renewable energy sources such as hydrogen fuel cells and solar PV modules, as well as KEPCO's distribution network. Additionally, by leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the project will establish a platform capable of factory energy management system (FEMS) and data collection and analysis for companies located in the industrial complex. This project is implemented to enhance energy self-sufficiency and efficiency of the industrial complex and to strengthen the competitiveness of aging industrial complexes.
CEO Kim Youngdeok said, "Nuri Telecom will participate in Green New Deal projects such as smart city and smart industrial complex projects by utilizing its core business AMI," adding, "We plan to expand the business model in the energy management system sector by building smart energy platforms and energy trading platforms and introducing cloud services."
