[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics is significantly upgrading its home appliance management application LG ThinQ, which provides smart home services, by adding a 'Care Service' to offer customers a new lifestyle.

LG Electronics announced on the 23rd that it recently launched the Care Service in the LG ThinQ application. This service consists of four menus: ▲Smart Life ▲Appliance Report ▲Care Solution ▲Campaign. Customers using air purifiers, water purifiers, dryers, and other appliances can access new features by connecting their LG ThinQ application with their appliances. The range of eligible products will gradually expand.

First, the Smart Life menu provides customized information to customers by utilizing appliance usage history and environmental information such as fine dust levels. For example, it analyzes the times during the day when indoor fine dust concentration was high and suggests turning on the air purifier during those times, linking directly to the air purifier reservation menu. Additionally, by using the Appliance Report menu, customers can understand their product usage patterns on a weekly basis.

The Care Solution service history can be checked in the Care Solution menu. It automatically manages records that were easy to forget if not separately noted, such as when a Care Solution manager visited and what maintenance was performed. Customers can also check payment details for Care Solution services and change payment methods within the LG ThinQ application.

The Campaign menu adds fun and public interest elements when customers use appliances. For instance, it informs users that frequent use of the water purifier helps reduce plastic by avoiding the use of bottled water.

Moreover, the 'Optimal Usage Guide' feature of the LG ThinQ application, which analyzes the operating status of products based on big data technology and provides usage guidance to customers, has become more convenient. The LG ThinQ application helps maintain products in optimal condition by providing appropriate detergent usage guidance if a customer uses more detergent than necessary in the washing machine or by guiding customers to easily book on-site service if an abnormal temperature is detected inside the refrigerator.

In addition, the LG ThinQ application offers various functions throughout the product lifecycle from the time customers purchase the product, including ▲product control and management ▲service consultation and reservation via chatbot ▲purchase of parts or consumables.

Jong-ha Hwang, Executive Director of LG Electronics H&A Smart Home Care Business Division, said, "We will continue to expand new smart home services to offer customers new lifestyles and value."
