8-Day Saessak Dongyo Festival and Online Experience Booth from 21st to 28th... A Gathering for Peers to Share Empathy, Comfort, and Encouragement
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold an 8-day online festival for youth, "2020 Ontact Songpa Youth Festival, Bobae-roi," until November 28.
"Bobae-roi" is a pure Korean word meaning "precious and valuable," and also carries the meaning of "seeing and learning," symbolizing this non-face-to-face festival.
This festival was jointly planned by Songpa-gu and five organizations: ▲Songpa Youth Center ▲Macheon Youth Center ▲Jamsil Youth Center ▲Songpa Youth Future Center ▲Youth Support Center Dream.
Previously, each organization held its own festival, but this year the scale has been expanded and online content strengthened.
The festival consists of the "24th Sprout Children's Song Contest" and "Online Experience Booths."
Since 1997, the Sprout Children's Song Contest has been Songpa-gu's representative youth music festival where elementary school students compete.
On November 21, 12 teams who passed the preliminaries decorated the final competition stage through an online live broadcast on the 28th.
Online booths offering 10 types of experience activities such as ▲making cellphone keyrings ▲making rattan mood lamps ▲making Bluetooth speakers will also be operated.
Youth who wish to participate can pre-register on the festival website and then receive experience kits at the nearest youth center. They can watch videos to create their own works and upload the completed works on the festival website and SNS to showcase their skills.
Detailed information can be found on the official Songpa Youth Festival website, by phone (☎02-443-0100), or on each youth center's website.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "Youth have likely felt more stress and loneliness than any other year due to COVID-19," and added, "I hope this festival allows them to empathize with each other and share comfort and encouragement."
