[Today’s Weather] Nationwide Morning Temperatures 'Plummet'... Cold Wind Amid Cold Wave Advisory

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] On Monday the 23rd, the morning temperature will drop significantly and strong winds will blow, resulting in cold weather.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the morning temperature in the central inland and Gyeongsang inland areas will drop by more than 10 degrees compared to the previous day, and a cold wave advisory is expected to be issued from 11 PM. The southern inland areas will also experience a temperature drop of about 5 to 10 degrees, continuing the cold weather.

Due to the cloud band formed by the temperature difference over the West Sea, there will be many clouds and some raindrops in the Jeolla West Coast and Jeju Island during the day.

On the northern East Coast of Gangwon Province, there may be rain in the early morning due to the easterly wind, and some areas in the northern mountainous region of Gangwon Province may experience snow flurries. The expected precipitation is less than 5 mm.

The lowest morning temperatures by region are expected to be △Seoul -2°C △Incheon -1°C △Chuncheon -4°C △Gangneung 4°C △Daejeon -1°C △Daegu 1°C △Busan 4°C △Jeonju 0°C △Gwangju 4°C △Jeju 9°C.

The highest daytime temperatures are expected to be △Seoul 6°C △Incheon 6°C △Chuncheon 8°C △Gangneung 13°C △Daejeon 9°C △Daegu 11°C △Busan 14°C △Jeonju 8°C △Gwangju 10°C △Jeju 12°C.

Fine dust levels nationwide are predicted to be between 'Good' and 'Moderate'.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "High waves caused by swells on the East Coast may overflow rocky shores or breakwaters, so special caution is required for coastal safety. Even waves around 1.5 meters during swell events can cause accidents near the coast, so it is recommended to avoid approaching coastal areas as much as possible."
