"No Flesh on Discovered Human Bones"... German Man Who Ate Human Flesh

[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] A man in his 40s was arrested by police in Germany on suspicion of eating human flesh.

On the 20th (local time), according to the British newspaper The Guardian, bones without any flesh were found on the outskirts of Berlin, Germany, and following a police investigation, the prosecution announced on the 20th that a man identified as A (41) was arrested on the 18th on suspicion of cannibalism.

Earlier, on the 8th, a passerby discovered multiple human leg bones in a park on the outskirts of Berlin and reported it to the police. Through the Berlin daily newspaper BZ, the police stated, "There was no flesh attached to the bones at all," and "It is presumed to be a victim of cannibalism."

According to The Guardian, forensic analysis of the bones revealed bite marks from either a human or an animal on the leg bones, which belonged to a 44-year-old high-voltage technician who went missing on September 5th in Lichtenberg, Berlin.

The police deployed a police dog in the suspect investigation and, following the scent, located the residence of A, a middle school math and chemistry teacher. At A's residence, a knife, a bone saw used by surgeons, a large-sized icebox, and 25 kg of sodium hydroxide, which is used to dissolve human tissue, were found. However, the suspect reportedly denied the crime, claiming that the sodium hydroxide was purchased for soap making and denied its use for the crime.
