The People Power Party's Foreign Affairs and Security Special Committee held a press conference at the National Assembly in the afternoon and stated, "The 'Resolution to Urge the Continued Development of the South Korea-US Alliance for Peace on the Korean Peninsula,' submitted to the National Assembly on the 17th mainly by the Democratic Party, overly emphasized the 'Korean Peninsula process.'
Park Jin, chairman of the special committee, urged that the South Korea-US alliance should work towards expanding free trade, saying, "Following the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), we should jointly pursue participation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) together with the United States."
Park said, "The People Power Party is also considering forming a delegation to visit the United States at the party level," adding, "We plan to promote the visit to the US at an appropriate time after the US Thanksgiving and the National Assembly's budget approval."
