Online Charity Auction 'Gongpummyeongpum' from 23rd to 26th, Diverse Online and Offline Shared Lectures and Experience Programs
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will hold the sharing festival "Sustainable Seongdong Sharing Week," where residents can learn and experience "sharing," for four days from the 23rd to the 26th.
This Sharing Week, held together at the Seongdong Sharing Center, the multipurpose cultural space "Darag Oksu," and the Sae Hwal-yong Plaza, is designed to provide residents with opportunities to directly experience the meaning and possibilities of sharing activities through various events and to practice them in daily life.
In response to the COVID-19 situation, this event is prepared in two formats: an online event with high accessibility and various attempts, and an offline event for hands-on experience.
The most eye-catching event is the "Gongpum Myeongpum Online Charity Auction." This event involves donating personal items and donating the proceeds from the charity auction to charitable organizations, conducted entirely online. Any resident can participate by paying a participation fee of 20,000 KRW, which allows them to donate items and participate in bidding. Applicants will receive a kit delivered to their home, including instructions on how to participate and a bidding number plate.
On the event day, the 26th, real-time auction participation is possible through the online Zoom video conferencing application, and the proceeds will be used to purchase winter supplies for socially vulnerable groups in Seongdong-gu.
Additionally, a relay sharing campaign called "Wise Recycling Separation," where participants take certification shots of separated recyclable waste and tag three friends on their personal SNS, will run throughout the event period. On the 23rd, an online sharing talk introducing "plogging," picking up trash while jogging, and on the 24th, an online communication time with the EM experience group will be held via YouTube.
Various offline experience events are also available. Over three days on the 23rd and 25th, nine offline events will be operated, including sharing lecture programs such as EM fermented liquid classes, lifestyle yoga, calligraphy, and experience programs linked to resource circulation like making picture frames from delivery boxes and making solid shampoo. Each class will limit participation to a maximum of 8 people and will be conducted strictly following quarantine guidelines.
Also, the "Our Home Library Book Sharing," where residents can exchange unread books with those stored at the Seongdong Sharing Center's shared bookshelf, will be held during the event period.
Residents wishing to participate in various lectures and interactive programs can apply through the Seongdong Sharing Center website or by phone.
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "Through this sharing festival, I hope it becomes an opportunity for sharing activities that move away from consumption-centered lifestyles to spread throughout Seongdong-gu, where people share together and simultaneously restore the environment and community."
