[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min criticized President Moon Jae-in for remaining silent on the real estate issue, calling it "cowardly." He emphasized that only by changing the administration and remaking housing policies can the rental housing crisis be resolved.

On the 22nd, former lawmaker Yoo said on Facebook, "Even if the whole country is turned upside down, President Moon Jae-in has completely hidden himself."

He pointed out, "Three months ago, on August 8, 'As the effects of real estate measures appear, the upward trend in housing prices is calming down.' This was the last remark President Moon made before hiding. The 24 real estate measures show how foolish this administration is, and now it has become cowardly."

Former lawmaker Yoo criticized, "Even when the whole country is in chaos, the highest person responsible for state affairs does not show a single hair and hides completely. Surely, he must know the failure by now, but he does not want to admit mistakes or take responsibility."

He raised his voice, saying, "He only shows his face when promoting himself but runs away at moments when he should take responsibility?a truly cowardly president. Now, let's give up hope on President Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party."

Former lawmaker Yoo cited controversial remarks from ruling party figures such as ▲"Not everyone needs to live in Gangnam" (Jang Ha-sung), ▲"Living in monthly rent is not a bad thing" (Yoon Joon-byung), ▲"Endure the inconvenience and wait" (Kim Sang-jo), ▲"I will provide hotel rooms as rental housing" (Lee Nak-yeon), and ▲"Give up illusions about apartments" (Jin Sun-mi), criticizing, "This administration only pours out words that rub salt in the wounds of those giving up their dream of owning a home."

He said, "To revive the dream of homeownership and restore the ladder to owning a home, there is no choice but to remake housing policies from scratch. Who else but a change of administration can increase supply in the housing market, revive the private rental market, and lower the housing prices, monthly rents, and taxes raised by the Moon administration? Only a change of government is the answer."
