[Asia Economy Reporter Koh Hyung-kwang] Korea Investment & Securities announced on the 21st that it has launched the 'Korea Investment Japan Digital Growth Lab,' which invests in companies related to Japan's digital transformation policy.
This product invests in Japanese companies involved in electronic payments, data solutions, internet security, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and automation. It is managed with a 95% allocation within two weeks of subscription per account, and when the customer’s designated target return is achieved, it is operated as a short-term cash-equivalent asset. The minimum subscription amount is 30 million KRW.
Korea Investment & Securities launched this product in response to the expected growth of related companies due to Japan's digital transformation policy following the inauguration of the Suga Yoshihide Cabinet. Marking one month since its launch, the Suga Cabinet in Japan is promoting plans to advance digitalization across various sectors of society to move away from the analog systems represented by 'stamps and faxes.' Discussions are underway to establish a Digital Agency, and efforts to abolish the use of stamps in administrative agencies are accelerating the shift to online operations.
This product is available for subscription through all Korea Investment & Securities branches. For more details, customers can contact their nearest branch or the customer center. Lee Jun-jae, Head of Investment Products Division at Korea Investment & Securities, said, "Having witnessed how the digital industries in Korea, the US, and China have developed, Japan’s changes can also present a good investment opportunity for domestic investors," adding, "The Korea Investment Japan Digital Growth Lab will be a good investment channel for investors interested in this area."
