[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] Samuel Little (80), known as the worst serial killer in American criminal history who reportedly murdered as many as 93 people, has additionally confessed that he was responsible for two murder cases from over 40 years ago.

According to the Miami Herald and other U.S. daily newspapers on the 21st, Little admitted to killing Karen O'Donohue and Dorothy Gibson in Miami-Dade County, Florida, during the 1970s.

In 1977, Gibson, who was 17 at the time, was found strangled to death in front of a hotel.

The police arrested a man named Jerry Townsend as a suspect. Townsend, who had an IQ of 58, confessed to the crime after five days of police interrogation and was ultimately imprisoned for 22 years. In 2001, DNA testing proved Townsend's innocence, and he was released. The situations of Little and Townsend are similar to those of Korean serial killer Saemujul Lee Chun-jae.

Little remembered the appearances of O'Donohue and Gibson, whom he claimed to have killed, in great detail.

The police said that Little had such a good memory that he could draw the faces of these victims and others.

The FBI released videos last year showing Little's statements and the portraits of victims he drew himself. Most of the victims in the portraits were African American women.

The authorities stated that there is sufficient evidence that Little is the real culprit, but since he is already serving a life sentence for murder, they will not file additional charges.

Townsend's lawyer, who suffered wrongful imprisonment, criticized after hearing Little's additional confession, saying, "It is even more shocking that the police made such a terrible prosecution at the time," and added, "They only tried to close the case by taking advantage of Townsend's old age."

Little revealed that he killed a total of 93 people from 1970 to 2005, and about 50 cases have been confirmed as true so far.
