[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that it will conduct a demand survey for a pilot project of internet banner posting stands to organize various illegal advertisements that spoil the urban landscape, and will begin full-scale implementation from next month.

Although the installation of outdoor advertisements is operated under a permit and reporting system, a lack of awareness among advertisers and outdoor advertising businesses, as well as negligence in reporting, is producing potential illegal advertisements.

In particular, banner installation must be reported and posted on designated stands, but as the waiting period to use the stands becomes longer, it is difficult to post at the desired location and date, leading to many cases of illegal installation.

To solve these problems, Jangheung-gun plans to cooperate with Jeollanam-do to install internet banner stands on the Jeollanam-do provincial office and county websites to post internet banners.

The advertising content of the internet banners will prioritize county government promotion, support policies for small business owners and young entrepreneurs, social enterprises, and young businesspeople, excluding gambling, harmful, and obscene advertisements, in order to disperse the posting demand on the stands.

A county official said, “We will continuously come up with new ideas like the internet banner stands to organize illegal advertisements and strive to take the lead in creating an advanced outdoor advertising culture.”
