[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] “It is rewarding and meaningful to volunteer with my family. I want to continue contributing to our neighborhood through volunteer activities.”
This is a comment from a resident participating in the Haedoduri Family Volunteer Group.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is hosting a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the 22nd Haedoduri Family Volunteer Group.
The district will hold the “22nd Haedoduri Family Volunteer Group Completion Ceremony” at 10 a.m. on the 21st in the Planning Situation Room on the 4th floor of the district office.
“Haedoduri” is a pure Korean word meaning “striving to create a better world,” and it is Jungnang-gu’s representative volunteer group where parents and children participate together in various volunteer activities.
Since the formation of the Haedoduri Family Volunteer Group in 2010, it has received high praise from residents, with 248 families and 833 participants.
The completion ceremony will be held with 17 families and 49 people attending, including Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu, featuring speeches by family volunteer group representatives, certificate presentations, and greetings.
The 22nd Haedoduri Family Volunteer Group consists of families with children in upper elementary grades or higher, and carried out volunteer activities such as ▲basic volunteer education ▲environmental cleanup of famous gravesites in Manguri Park ▲baking and delivering bread for elderly living alone ▲family relationship improvement education.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I thank the graduates who actively participated in volunteer activities while adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various programs to spread a family-based volunteer culture.”
