[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai Motor Group is engaging in social sharing activities through the ‘Gift Car Red Carpet’ blood donation campaign.

Started in 2010, the Gift Car campaign is Hyundai Motor Group’s representative social contribution activity that gifts cars to low-income and vulnerable neighbors and provides customized startup support for self-reliance. This year, marking its 11th anniversary, the campaign aims to go beyond providing self-reliance opportunities by encouraging the public to actively participate in solving social issues using automobiles, thereby spreading public interest value.

Conducted in partnership with the Korean Red Cross, this campaign operates through a ‘Private Pickup Service’ that helps Korean citizens who wish to donate blood travel safely to blood donation centers, and a ‘Private Blood Donation Service’ that allows easier blood donation at desired locations. The Private Pickup Service is a program where blood donors can travel to the blood donation center at their preferred time and place using a G80 or Carnival vehicle, complete their donation, and return to their desired location using the same vehicle.

Additionally, starting next month, the Private Blood Donation Service will be added, where a Solati blood donation vehicle equipped with a personal blood donation environment and a Korean Red Cross phlebotomist will visit the donor’s preferred time and place, allowing blood donation with minimal external contact. This service will be gradually operated nationwide until June next year. It is planned to be operated on a rotating basis centered around nine blood centers selected by the Korean Red Cross.

Anyone wishing to participate in Gift Car Red Carpet can apply by entering their story and desired date on the Gift Car website. Hyundai Motor Group will select participants considering their stories and travel distances and provide individual guidance. All participants will receive blood donation-related souvenirs.

Hyundai Motor Group has produced an online video introducing the ‘Gift Car Red Carpet’ campaign, which will be broadcast from today through various online channels such as YouTube, Naver TV, and Kakao TV. Starting with the ‘Launching’ episode, three episodes will be broadcast sequentially: the ‘Private Pickup Service’ episode featuring actress Choi Kang-hee, who has continued good deeds such as blood and bone marrow donation, and the ‘Private Blood Donation Service’ episode starring students from the Hongseong High School blood donation club who have been regularly donating blood for over eight years.

Various events will also be held to encourage participation. The Red Carpet Challenge is an event where participants take photos of red items symbolizing blood donation and upload them on their personal SNS with mandatory hashtags. Among participants, wireless earphones and coffee gifticons will be given by lottery. Additionally, the ‘Red Carpet Video Sharing Event,’ where participants share the Gift Car Red Carpet online video with mandatory hashtags on their personal SNS, and the ‘Red Carpet Hero Certification Event,’ where blood donors upload actual blood donation certification photos with mandatory hashtags on their personal SNS, will be held later.

A Hyundai Motor Group official said, “‘Gift Car Red Carpet’ connects the warm hearts of our neighbors through Hyundai Motor Group’s means of transportation and is a campaign where anyone who can donate blood can participate and exert positive influence,” adding, “We hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity to help blood supply.”
