Ven. Hyemin: "I Will Step Down from All Activities"

On the same day, Park posted on his Facebook, saying, "Hyungak, what is desire to you?"
He pointed out, "Hyungak organized the situation during a 70-minute phone call and said, 'Hye-min is beautiful,' and asked, 'What do you think is the fundamental teaching of Buddhism?'"
Earlier, Ven. Hye-min appeared on tvN's 'On and Off' on the 7th, revealing his Seoul city home with a view of Namsan Tower, not a temple, which drew criticism for contradicting Buddhism's culture of non-possession.
In particular, Ven. Hyungak harshly criticized Ven. Hye-min on his SNS, saying, "He is nothing but a thief who does not understand the teachings of Shakyamuni at all. He is a parasite who sells the Buddha's teachings and is going to hell."
However, on the morning of the 16th, Ven. Hyungak posted again, saying, "I had a 70-minute phone call full of mutual respect and love with Ven. Hye-min," and reversed his position by saying, "Ven. Hye-min is an unbelievably beautiful person."
In response, lawyer Park said, "Ask Hyungak. (Your words) were a criticism of capitalism Buddhism and a complaint about not being included," and criticized, "You were a hybrid English Buddhism, a hybrid foreigner leader of the Sudeoksa Seungsanmun sect who did not even know Sanskrit or Tibetan."
He continued, "You two were guinea pigs with no philosophical depth at all," and retorted, "Let me ask, what do you think is the fundamental teaching of Buddhism?"
Meanwhile, Ven. Hye-min stated regarding the controversy, "I will give up all activities and return to the public Seonwon to study the Buddha's words again and devote myself to practice and prayer."
