[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Next-Generation Medical Device Products Online Export Consultation' will be held for two days from November 17 to 18 at the 7th floor of the Pan Ocean Hotel, Regis Busan Jungang-dong Center in Busan.
The export consultation event promoted by Busan City to foster the next-generation rehabilitation welfare medical device industry was held in Vietnam last year.
This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event has been converted to a non-face-to-face format and will be conducted through one-on-one real-time video consultations between 10 excellent local companies and buyers from two countries, Australia and Singapore.
Busan City and Busan Technopark selected companies three months in advance and, through local agents, discovered about 50 buyers from Singapore and Australia, conducting preliminary research on regional and market characteristics.
The main products of the companies participating in this consultation include ▲ COVID-19 virus prevention health masks ▲ dementia prevention cognitive enhancement virtual reality (VR) devices ▲ talking smart canes ▲ dry eye syndrome treatment devices ▲ EMS+ICT healthcare devices, mainly products combining Korea's strengths in information and communication technology (ICT), healthcare, and medical device technology.
Among the participating companies, Neomed Co., Ltd. supplied COVID-19 virus prevention health masks in the Busan area.
SY Innotech was selected for the '2020 IoT Product Service Verification and Expansion' public project promoted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and is a company developing and advancing dementia prevention cognitive and rehabilitation services.
Byun Sung-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, said, "We will promote projects that provide practical support such as online overseas marketing to help Busan companies overcome COVID-19 and grow into global companies."
Busan City plans to use this event as an opportunity to expand the foothold for overseas advancement of medical device products beyond Vietnam and China to the Oceania region.
