Seongbuk-gu 'Disabled Family Support Center' Opens

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has opened the 'Disabled Family Support Center' for the happiness of both people with disabilities and their families.

The 'Disabled Family Support Center,' opened on the 11th in Jongam-dong (129 Jongam-ro, Room 305), will encompass the local community and connect various services to alleviate the social and psychological burdens experienced by families of people with disabilities.

A Seongbuk-gu official stated, “We have opened a hub center that designs and connects various supports for families of people with disabilities, aiming to be a city where both people with disabilities and their families are happy, and where the rights of people with disabilities are properly realized.”

The Disabled Family Support Center links specialized community services to expand leisure and cultural programs for families of people with disabilities. It also operates programs that share the difficulties of families, such as providing emergency care services for people with disabilities when caregivers are absent.

The Seongbuk-gu Disabled Persons' Organizations Federation, selected through a public contest, will be entrusted with operation for three years.

Mayor Lee Seung-ro expressed, “The region will join hands to reduce the social and psychological burdens of families of people with disabilities and provide a cooperative link among these families, striving to make Seongbuk-gu a happy community for all members.”
