No Need to Record Entry: Just Make a Free Call and You're OK!

Seodaemun-gu Launches Visitor Entry Record Service via Phone Calls Related to COVID-19

No Need to Record Entry: Just Make a Free Call and You're OK! A visitor making a phone call to the contact number provided at the entrance on the first floor of Seodaemun-gu Office

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced that starting from the 16th, it has launched a ‘visitor entry record service via phone call’ to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to facilitate visitors' convenience.

This service is implemented at 33 facilities within Seodaemun-gu, including Seodaemun-gu Office, Seodaemun-gu Council, Seodaemun Public Health Center, each community service center, district libraries, Seodaemun Natural History Museum, Seodaemun Prison History Hall, and Sinchon Culture Development Center.

When entering these facilities, visitors simply call the number posted at the entrance and end the call following the recorded guidance message without any additional conversation.

The call time and caller’s contact information are automatically recorded, eliminating the need to write contact details on a visitor log or access a QR code.

The district explained that since visitors previously had concerns about personal contact information leakage or difficulties using QR codes, they improved their own phone system to establish this service.

Additionally, this system is expected to alleviate infection concerns related to using writing instruments for manual logbooks, improve the accuracy of records, and reduce the time required for access management.

Anyone with a mobile phone can use this service, and no call charges apply. Those without a mobile phone can still use the existing method.

Mayor Moon Seok-jin of Seodaemun-gu said, “We introduced this system to provide safer and faster authentication for entry convenience and thorough quarantine measures, and we will continue to do our best in quarantine efforts until the end of COVID-19.”
