[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province has attracted 9 companies to Naepo New City. The total investment amount of the attracted companies is 57.6 billion KRW.

On the 16th, the province announced that Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo, Hongseong County Mayor Kim Seok-hwan, and CEO Kim Min-ho of DNA Tech, along with representatives of 9 companies, signed a multilateral investment agreement.

The agreement centers on establishing a new production factory (1 location) or relocating existing factories (8 locations) on a 68,766㎡ site within the Naepo Advanced City Industrial Complex. With these companies moving into the Naepo Advanced City Industrial Complex, the occupancy rate will increase from 23.7% to 40.9%.

The newly settled companies include DNA Tech and Shinhan Steel from Hwaseong, Gyeonggi; J1 Medics from Gimpo; Daekyung Solution from Bucheon; Sungji T&M from Suwon; Hyeonchang Human Tech from Incheon; Hyzen from Daejeon; and eXshare from Guro-gu, Seoul, and LSD Tech from Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.

The province expects that once these companies begin full-scale production, there will be a production effect of 124.3 billion KRW and a value-added effect of 33.6 billion KRW. Additionally, 275 new jobs are anticipated.

Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo stated, “Since Naepo New City was designated as an innovation city, it requires new growth engines. Chungnam Province and Hongseong County will actively support local resident companies so that each company can grow and develop together with Chungnam.”
