iPhone 12 Mini Lock Screen Camera and Swipe Recognition Issues
iPhone 12 Replacement Users Raise Concerns Over Group Message Reception Errors
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] iPhone 12 mini users have experienced issues where the touch is not properly recognized when unlocking the device or turning on the camera while locked.
On the 15th (local time), users who purchased the iPhone 12 mini pointed out on the IT community Reddit that there is a problem where touch is not properly recognized when unlocking the device, pressing the camera while locked, or swiping up from the bottom.
The issue did not occur when the device was unlocked. Some users suggested that the problem is resolved when the device is connected to a wired charger or used without a case. There is also speculation that the touch recognition error when locked may be related to grounding or conductivity issues.
Some users who switched to the iPhone 12 also experienced missing text messages. Users who switched to the iPhone 12 raised issues about text message sending problems on the Apple forum.
In group text conversations with multiple people using iMessage, there were problems where not all messages could be seen or some messages were missing. The issue occurred not only in conversations among iOS users but also in chats including Android device users. It is presumed to be a software issue unrelated to any specific carrier.
AppleInsider explained, "Apple is aware of this issue and is likely to resolve it with a software update."
Meanwhile, in domestic iPhone communities, there have been consistent reports of the so-called 'lightning phenomenon' where the screen flickers when watching videos or web surfing with the brightness set low on the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the 'black' issue where the screen goes dark at 50% brightness, and uneven light leakage on the sides or bottom of the display. In response, Apple stated, "We are aware of a small number of reported cases and are currently investigating."
