[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] A person claiming to be rapper Bully Da Bastard (real name Yoon Byung-ho, 20), who gained fame by appearing on 'High School Rapper,' has confessed to drug addiction since middle school, sparking controversy over the authenticity of the claim.
On the 13th, the Instagram account 'F.T.W Independent Records' posted a lengthy message from someone claiming to be Bully Da Bastard (real name Yoon Byung-ho).
He stated, "Since 2013, I have been severely addicted to drugs starting with codeine, an opiate ingredient found in cough syrup, as well as marijuana, spice, and more, from my middle school days," adding, "However, I was under the illusion that I could quit anytime I wanted without realizing it myself."
He continued, "After appearing on 'High School Rapper,' I obtained all kinds of drugs I could get, including LSD, ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine, and used too many drugs such as philopon, heroin, and fentanyl, causing deep wounds to those around me and even my family."
He also said, "After the program 'Rehabilitation,' I quit drugs and went through terrible pain and withdrawal symptoms, but facing the guilt for my mistakes was the most painful part," adding, "Since April 2020, I have been drug-free, but after smoking marijuana left in a grinder, I turned myself in on November 11. I submitted urine and hair samples, and only THC tested positive in the urine. To ensure punishment for any drugs that might not have shown due to time passed, I submitted evidence photos to the detective."
He said, "I know I have lost a lot of trust. For the first time, I sincerely want to apologize," and concluded, "I want to apologize to everyone hurt by my actions. I will accept all punishments and come back looking better."
However, the post is controversial because it was uploaded from an account different from the one Bully Da Bastard previously used and is currently deleted.
Meanwhile, Bully Da Bastard had a conflict with singer Lee Rohan in May over a 3.3 million won debt default controversy. At that time, he apologized, saying, "I was struggling with living expenses such as rent, and my loan application was not approved. I had been unable to escape drug addiction for years and repeatedly acted in ways I don't even remember, taking dozens of pills as if running away from reality and making disparaging remarks attacking several artists out of inferiority."
