Until the 22nd, Jungnang Art Center hosts the 'Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest Award-Winning Exhibition'... 53 award-winning works including Lee Seo-young's 'Waving Sister Yu Gwan-sun's Taegeukgi' on display
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) presents works by children dreaming of becoming the next Lee Jung-seop.
The district is holding the "Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest Award Exhibition" at Jungnang Art Center until the 22nd.
The "Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest" was first launched in 2017 to commemorate Lee Jung-seop, a representative painter of modern Korean history resting at Manguri Park. This year, it was held in August with two themes: messages of hope for overcoming COVID-19 and the history and figures of Manguri Park.
This exhibition features 53 award-winning works, including "Unni Yu Gwan-sun Waving the Taegeukgi" by child artist Lee Seo-young, "Following COVID-19 Safety Rules" by Moon So-hee, "Defeat COVID-19 with Unni Yu Gwan-sun's Spirit!" by Choi Seo-young, "Coronavirus! Friends, Let's Stay Strong Together" by Kim Kang-jun, and "If We Follow the Rules, We Can Overcome!" by Park Ha-eum.
In particular, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the exhibition is also held online through Jungnang-gu's official YouTube channel, expected to gain great popularity among residents.
The exhibition is free and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jungnang Art Center's 2nd Exhibition Hall. Residents wishing to view the exhibition can visit the Jungnang Art Center. However, it is closed on Mondays.
For other inquiries about the exhibition and viewing, residents can call the Jungnang Art Center for information.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope this exhibition instills pride in children and delivers a message of hope to residents weary from COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to prepare various exhibitions to promote cultural and artistic development in the region."
