Boseong County Public Officials Union Accuses Sports Association President of Power Abuse and Verbal Abuse

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The labor union of Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, reported to the police that the chairman of the sports association, who should take the lead in preventing 'bullying and abuse of power' in the sports field, neglected his duties and committed 'verbal abuse and abuse of power' for personal interests.

On the 12th, the Boseong-gun labor union filed a complaint with the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, requesting an investigation into Chairman A of the sports association for abuse of power, suspected embezzlement of subsidies, and verbal abuse toward public officials.

The union claimed, "On September 11, A verbally abused a public official who requested documents related to the subsidy support project for over an hour, saying 'Bring a beer bottle,' 'I will kill you,' and threatened, 'I will go to see the county governor.' He also caused a disturbance by taking off his clothes and being in his underwear, obstructing official duties."

They added, "An internal audit revealed that about 14 million won of the sports association's subsidies were misused, and some were used for personal vehicle fuel expenses, entertainment expenses, and meal costs."

The union stated, "This is aimed at restoring the pride of unionized public officials who have suffered from abuse of power and obstruction of official duties by the chairman of the Boseong-gun Sports Association and eradicating such abusive behavior. We filed the complaint to eradicate local corruption through a fair investigation into various embezzlement suspicions related to sports subsidies of the Boseong-gun Sports Association and to serve as a warning for the sound development of sports in each city and county."

The police plan to investigate the exact facts based on the complaint.
