[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has signed an agreement for the successful operation of the ‘Dong Welfare University’.
On the 12th at 3:30 PM, the district held a ‘Dong Welfare University’ public-private consortium agreement ceremony in the Planning Situation Room on the 4th floor of the district office.
‘Dong Welfare University’ is an educational program where residents learn how to discover and solve welfare issues in their neighborhood by themselves. This agreement was prepared to establish an organic cooperation system among ‘residents - Dong Community Service Center - Welfare Center’ before the operation of the ‘Dong Welfare University’ begins.
At the agreement ceremony, private chairpersons of the Happiness Sharing Councils from four participating neighborhoods?Myeonmok 2-dong, Myeonmok 4-dong, Muk 1-dong, and Sinnae 1-dong?along with the heads of these four neighborhoods, and directors of four welfare centers including Jungnang Senior Welfare Center, Myeonmok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, University of Seoul Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Yurin Wongwang Comprehensive Social Welfare Center attended and formed the consortium to sign the agreement.
The consortium formed on this day promised active mutual cooperation throughout the educational program until 2022, when the ‘Dong Welfare University’ will be operated, including ▲ conducting specialized projects for residents struggling due to COVID-19 ▲ learning the necessity of resident-led Dong welfare ▲ residents directly discovering and practicing various Dong welfare issues.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Dong Welfare University will greatly help strengthen residents’ capabilities and improve local welfare,” and added, “I hope residents, Dong Community Service Centers, and welfare institutions will all work hard so that the Dong Welfare University can be successfully operated based on mutual respect and trust.”
