According to Chungbuk Province and the police on the 12th, the university student A (21) who was being treated at Chungbuk National University Hospital the previous afternoon passed away.
A received the flu vaccine at Boeun Public Health Center at around 10:30 a.m. on the 10th.
After the vaccination, A returned to their home in Cheongju and was found collapsed at home by their parents the next day.
A had underlying conditions such as diabetes, and when transported to the hospital after collapsing, their blood sugar level was more than 10 times the normal level.
The police requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the cause of A's death.
Twenty residents who received vaccines with the same batch number as A at Boeun Public Health Center reportedly showed no unusual symptoms.
The health authorities are investigating the connection with the vaccine while awaiting the autopsy results.
