Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Unveils Rendering of Mid-Size Truck 'The Ssen'

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle has confirmed the name of its upcoming mid-sized truck 'LD (project name)', scheduled for release in December, as 'the CEN' and unveiled the rendering images on the 12th.


The new mid-sized truck 'the CEN' is named by combining the initials of 'Complete', 'Efficient', and 'Needs'. It signifies a mid-sized truck with unparalleled efficiency that customers and the market desire. It will be released in 3t, 4t, and 5t load capacities, and the 5t model will be launched under the name 'the CEN Penta', combining 'the CEN' with 'Penta', meaning the number 5.


Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle's 'the CEN' is the first in the commercial vehicle industry to adopt an 8-speed automatic transmission, enhancing driving convenience and efficiency. Additionally, reflecting customers' needs for braking performance in heavy-load vehicles, it is equipped with the latest full air brakes.

The rendering images revealed along with the name feature a streamlined and unique design that emphasizes the vehicle's volume. In particular, the large grille extending from the front panel to the bumper and the horn-shaped front panel extending from the top of the grille highlight a high-performance image while exuding a grand atmosphere. It is the first mid-sized truck in Korea to apply integrated mirrors and is equipped with LED daytime running lights, completing a luxurious eye expression.


Kim Bang-shin, President of Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle, said, "The mid-sized truck 'the CEN', scheduled for release at the end of the year, will be a vanguard model for Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle to complete its full truck lineup and transform into a comprehensive commercial vehicle brand." He added, "We focused on enhancing practicality, convenience, and safety by actively reflecting the voices of actual truck drivers."
