[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Gukil Graphene, a subsidiary of Gukil Paper, a specialty paper company, announced on the 11th that its graphene mass production process is progressing sequentially.
Previously, Gukil Graphene stated that it is in the process of filing patents for graphene continuous deposition equipment to strengthen its technology as a stepping stone for producing large-area graphene in the future. Each patent pertains to methods used in graphene synthesis, including ▲applying thermal decomposition (Thermal CVD) deposition sources and classification devices, ▲producing multiple product groups within a multi-chamber device, and ▲applying specialized methods in equipment design and deposition within facilities for large-area mass production, thereby securing a technological advantage in manufacturing.
A Gukil Graphene representative said, “Gukil Graphene has been steadily preparing patent registrations based on its technological capabilities,” adding, “Regarding the US patent currently under review, ‘Transfer-Free Method for Producing Graphene Thin Film,’ we will proceed smoothly according to the examination and feedback from the US Patent Office.”
He added, “A few days ago, we succeeded in research to form a uniform large-area graphene layer without graphene seeds for standardization and stabilization of mass-produced products,” and “We are continuing research to reduce resistance in large-area graphene layers, and expect to proceed to prototype production without difficulty.”
