According to Chonnam National University on the 11th, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service announced on the 9th the results of the selection for the 'Regional Graduate Remote Education Support Center,' and Chonnam National University was finally confirmed as the university to establish the Graduate Remote Education Support Center.
This project, which selects one university per 10 regions for support, will be operated for five years until 2025.
The Graduate Remote Education Support Center will play a role in supporting the creation of an environment to activate remote classes with the aim of strengthening university online education.
Chonnam National University plans to jointly develop a smart Learning Management System (LMS), remote lecture content, and other resources with 22 participating universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, as well as carry out projects to support infrastructure construction necessary for remote classes, such as studio establishment and remote education innovation support.
This year, it plans to develop a smart Learning Management System and build a one-person self-studio with a project budget of 1.189 billion won.
Jeong Byeong-seok, president of Chonnam National University, said, "This project will lay the foundation for innovation by establishing a remote education cooperation system among regional universities and significantly activating remote classes at universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam."
