Nexon Reports Q3 Revenue of 887.3 Billion KRW... Record High Performance (Update)

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Nexon announced on the 10th that it recorded sales of 887.3 billion KRW and operating profit of 308.5 billion KRW in the third quarter. This is the highest performance ever for a third quarter.

Sales increased by 52% and operating profit increased by 13% compared to the previous year.

Nexon's mobile game hits such as Baram-ui Nara: Yeon, V4, and KartRider Rush+, as well as major PC games like MapleStory, Dungeon & Fighter, and Sudden Attack drove the strong performance.

In particular, Nexon's mobile game sales recorded a high growth rate of 140% compared to the same period last year. Baram-ui Nara: Yeon, which started service in July, ranked 2nd in Google Play's top sales and consistently maintained a top position in mobile game sales, leading the third quarter mobile sales.

V4, which has established itself as Nexon's long-term hit intellectual property (IP), officially launched in over 150 countries worldwide including North America and Europe in July, and continued its growth by introducing new classes and large-scale content updates such as ultra-fast growth updates.

KartRider Rush+, globally released in May, strengthened its success by expanding its user base and leveraging the genre characteristics of casual racing enjoyed on mobile.

Sales of Nexon's major PC games also continued to perform well. Celebrating its 17th anniversary this year, MapleStory grew by 71% in the Korean region compared to the same period last year, and recorded high growth rates of 178% and 165% in the North America/Europe and Asia/South America regions, respectively.

Dungeon & Fighter and Sudden Attack showed steady growth domestically. Dungeon & Fighter grew by 56% compared to the same period last year, and Sudden Attack recorded a growth rate of 35% compared to the previous year.

Owen Mahoney, CEO of Nexon, said, "Nexon's strong IP power demonstrated its potential on both PC and mobile platforms, achieving the highest ever third quarter performance. In the fourth quarter, we will further solidify our position as a multiplatform game company by expanding our global market share based on a development policy of selection and concentration."
