The Seoul-Munsan Expressway opened on the 7th. This expressway, which connects major hubs in the western inland area and prepares for the era of reunification, is the northernmost section connecting Iksan to Munsan. At the same time, it serves as a vertical axis expressway network in the northwestern Gyeonggi region, linking Incheon Airport, Gangbyeonbuk-ro, and the Seoul Metropolitan Area’s 1st Ring Expressway.
Using the Seoul-Munsan Expressway reduces travel time by about 40 minutes compared to Tongil-ro and about 10 minutes compared to Jayu-ro. In particular, for Paju City, the opening of the ‘New Town to Seolmun Connecting Road,’ which connects Unjeong New Town to the Goyang (Seolmun) IC on the expressway, is targeted for the first half of next year, so Paju residents are expected to use the metropolitan expressway network more conveniently.
