Introducing the 'Fleece Hobang Cushion' and 'Fleece Jacket'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kolon Industries FnC Division (hereinafter Kolon FnC) is launching the 'Samlip Hobang Fleece,' a collaboration between its lifestyle brand Hideout and SPC Samlip's iconic winter snack, Samlip Hobang.
Hideout has established itself as Korea's original fleece brand, boosted by the strong sales of the long fleece jumper Jekyll & Hyde, introduced through the show Hyori's Homestay. Samlip Hobang, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is a representative winter food in Korea. This collaboration between two iconic winter brands was planned to bring not only fun but also warmth to the heart during the winter season.
The Samlip Hobang Fleece consists of two products: the 'Fleece Hobang Cushion' and the 'Fleece Jacket.' Both products use high-density, heavyweight fleece material to provide warmth and coziness. The Fleece Hobang Cushion is a three-piece cold-weather set including a cushion, muffler, and bucket hat, uniquely designed to replicate the appearance of Samlip Hobang's signature red bean bun.
Designed to evoke the unique warmth of Hobang through fleece material, the cushion even recreates the paper at the bottom of the bun using fabric, adding a playful touch. The packaging of the Fleece Hobang Cushion is also designed identically to the Samlip Hobang package. Every detail, from the color to the font of the text, was carefully considered. The content humorously parodies nutritional information by listing the advantages of fleece. The price is 54,800 KRW.
The Fleece Jacket features a stand collar zip-up style, offering a simple yet distinctive Hideout look. The price is 98,000 KRW.
Hideout and SPC Samlip will donate the proceeds from the Samlip Hobang Fleece to housing-vulnerable groups. Through Big Issue Korea, a lifestyle magazine supporting the independence of these groups, the funds will be used to assist vendors with housing costs, heating expenses, and provide winter clothing for Big Issue sellers.
The Samlip Hobang Fleece will be first sold online at the curated shop 29CM for about two weeks starting from the 10th. Through 29CM’s flagship media ‘PT,’ customers can view behind-the-scenes stories of the collaboration between Hideout and Samlip Hobang, along with entertaining visual content.
Hideout’s brand manager Hyunchan Lee said, "We planned this collaboration to create a warm winter by bringing together the best winter food and clothing." He added, "Hideout aims to bring smiles to customers and be a brand that extends a helping hand, even if small, to those in need."
