[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] The second husband of Go Yoo-jeong and the biological father of her stepson is planning to submit a petition to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission requesting an inspection of the police who investigated the murder case of his son.

Bu Ji-seok, the legal representative of Go's ex-husband Mr. A, stated on the 8th, "We plan to submit a petition to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission regarding the investigation of the murder case of Go's stepson as early as the 9th, or at the latest by the 10th."

The petition is expected to include demands for an inspection and disciplinary action against the Cheongju Sangdang Police Station, which was in charge of the stepson murder case.

Attorney Bu said, "A thorough investigation into the inadequate investigation must be conducted to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future."

Earlier, the Supreme Court's First Division (Presiding Justice Lee Gi-taek) on the 5th upheld the original sentence of life imprisonment for Go, who was indicted and detained on charges of murder, corpse mutilation, and corpse concealment. However, the original ruling, which acquitted Go of the charge of murdering her stepson due to insufficient evidence secured by the police, was maintained.

Regarding this, Mr. A claimed, "Due to the erroneous judgment of the Cheongju Sangdang Police Station at the early stage of the case, it ultimately became an unsolved case with only the deceased and no perpetrator."

He also refuted the Supreme Court's point, which, like the first and second trials, did not exclude the possibility that the stepson suffocated under the body of his biological father, saying, "I do not have any sleeping habits," and added, "The police believed Go's false statements and proceeded with the investigation, which led to today's outcome."

Mr. A emphasized, "If the police had thoroughly investigated from the beginning of the case, keeping Go Yoo-jeong as a prime suspect and securing items used in the incident such as pillows, blankets, and comforters, the charges against Go could have been proven more quickly and easily."
