[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jeong Won-seok, a member of the People Power Party's emergency committee, criticized Yang Hyang-ja, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who responded to opposition criticism of by-election nominations by saying, "Even Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman, would have made a similar choice," calling her "a third-rate politician born from first-rate Samsung."

At the National Assembly emergency committee meeting on the 5th, Jeong said, "Where did you learn Samsung's innovation, which emphasized new management and quality control through the Frankfurt Declaration, that you abandoned all those principles so quickly after leaving Samsung and joining the Democratic Party?"

Earlier, Supreme Council member Yang appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and responded to opposition criticism by saying, "(Chairman Kim) would have made the same choice even if he were the Democratic Party's emergency committee chairman."

Jeong pointed out, "Looking back at the choices of the People Power Party and Chairman Kim, they made a decision not to nominate candidates for the position of Uiryeong County Governor, which was operated under an acting system due to election law violations," calling it "the sophistry of Yang, who has fallen from a first-rate Samsung to a third-rate politician."

He added, "The Democratic Party must clearly state its position regarding Kim Jin-gyu, the mayor of Ulsan Nam-gu, and Kim Il-kwon, the mayor of Yangsan, who have lost their positions due to election law violations."

Regarding Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, who expressed his intention to resign but later reversed his decision, he criticized, "He failed to protect his home, principles, convictions, and beliefs about the economy," adding, "Please recognize that a third-rate party, politicians, and ministers are disappointing the public."
