Providing Non-Face-to-Face Play Kits for Infants and Toddlers Staying at Home in Jungnang-gu 'Popular'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has prepared a non-face-to-face play kit for young children in the area who are staying at home.

Starting from the 6th, the district announced that it will accept applications for the ‘Smile Bag Play Kit’ for 400 households raising children under the age of 5 in the area.

The ‘Smile Bag Play Kit’ provided this time is a program designed to reduce the childcare burden for parents who find it difficult to visit communal childcare rooms due to COVID-19 and to support play activities for children who have difficulty going out.

In particular, the play kit consists of toys that were highly popular among young children using communal childcare rooms, such as a handprint playbook, sound book, and giant soap bubbles, and is expected to gain great popularity among residents.

Moreover, a video URL and QR code containing various play methods using the kit, which can be easily followed at home, will also be provided via text message, expected to receive great response from residents.

To apply, visit the Jungnang-gu Childcare Support Center website, select a nearby communal childcare room, fill out and submit the application form. The play kits will be distributed through the communal childcare rooms from the 12th to the 21st on a first-come, first-served basis.

Earlier, in September, the district also conducted applications for infant play kits targeting 400 households raising children under 2 years old, which received great response from residents, with applications closing within an hour of the internet server opening.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope this play kit will serve as a joyful stimulus in the daily lives of our children who have not been able to fully enjoy their right to play due to COVID-19 restrictions on going out,” adding, “We will prepare various non-face-to-face programs to replace play programs that have been suspended due to the prolonged closure of communal childcare rooms.”

The district is also operating services that have received great response from residents, such as a non-face-to-face toy delivery service for local children, and ‘Our Home Playground Home~ping!’, which rents camping equipment and cooking experience kits so families can enjoy camping at home.
