Mando Wraps Up 'TechUp Plus Season 2'... Investment in 4 Startups

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Automotive parts company Mando and startup accelerator FuturePlay announced on the 4th that they have completed the 'Mando TechUP+ Season 2' program and will invest in four startups selected through the program.


The four selected startups are ThreeWW (developing last-mile autonomous delivery systems), Kachap (mobility service comparison platform), Cobot (developing service robots based on autonomous driving platforms), and Flyp (developing AI-applied automated robotics software).


Since November last year, the four startups have participated in the Mando TechUP+ Season 2 program, receiving funding necessary for early-stage startups along with six months of practical training in startup management. The four startups, selected and nurtured through the program, received investments of 600 million KRW from Mando and 300 million KRW from FuturePlay. Mando plans to collaborate with these four startups to explore not only B2B business but also expansion into the B2C sector.

Oh Changhoon, Vice President of Mando WG Campus, said, "We will continue to seek new business and technology ideas from external sources," adding, "We will create the future of the mobility industry together with innovative external startups."


Ryu Junghui, CEO of FuturePlay, stated, "New technologies in the mobility sector are increasing explosively," and added, "We will continue to discover and support startups developing new services such as AI-based autonomous robots and MaaS (Mobility as a Service) together with Mando."


Meanwhile, Mando and FuturePlay continue to collaborate with startups selected from the TechUP+ Season 1 program. The Season 1 selected startups include The Carbon Studio, which develops activated carbon for supercapacitors using coffee grounds; Newbility, which develops last-mile driving map solutions and robots; and ThreeSeconds, which develops AI coaching systems using racing driving data.
