Hyowon Sangjo, Full-Scale Activation of Online Funeral Halls

Hyowon Sangjo, Full-Scale Activation of Online Funeral Halls

Hyowon Sangjo Co., Ltd. announced on the 3rd that it is creating and promoting an online funeral hall.

This initiative is explained as a way to resolve various inconveniences experienced by members throughout the funeral process, such as the significant decrease in funeral visitations due to social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, difficulties in paying respects in unavoidable situations, and the challenge for bereaved families to easily notify others of unexpected funerals. It aims to provide more convenient funeral services.

The online funeral hall allows visitors to view the portrait photo of the deceased and funeral photos, and there is a separate condolence message registration section where people can leave messages expressing their sympathy for the deceased and the bereaved family.

Additionally, the names of the chief mourner and bereaved family members, family relationships, funeral schedule (departure time, burial site), etc., are displayed, and the location of the funeral hall can be checked for easy access. The bereaved family’s bank account information is also registered, enabling condolence money transfers without the hassle of asking for account numbers.

According to the company, the advantages include making it easy to find all funeral information and schedules at once via mobile phones, and providing a way to convey condolences even when visiting the funeral hall is not possible, which has been well received by members.

A company representative said, “Members and bereaved families who have actually used the online funeral hall continue to give feedback that it is revolutionary and convenient,” adding, “We are contributing to leading the funeral culture that quickly adapts to the 4th Industrial Revolution era and the untact COVID era.”

They continued, “As a company aiming for consumer-centered funeral services, we will continue to do our best to satisfy consumers through ongoing service development and introduction.”
