Audi Launches High-Performance Large SUV SQ8 TDI... Price 136.99 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Audi announced on the 2nd that it will begin selling the top high-performance model of its SUV lineup, the 'The New Audi SQ8 TDI,' in the domestic market starting from the 5th of this month.

The newly introduced 'The New Audi SQ8 TDI' is a high-performance version of the Audi Q8, which was launched domestically in March. It features the elegant style of a luxury coupe combined with the power of a high-performance model.

'The New Audi SQ8 TDI' is equipped with a 4.0 V8 diesel direct injection turbocharger (TDI) engine and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. It delivers a maximum output of 435 horsepower and a peak torque of 91.77 kg·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, has a top speed of 250 km/h (speed limited for safety), and a combined fuel efficiency of 8.5 km/ℓ.

This new model features Audi's innovative 'Dynamic All-Wheel Steering' system, which provides stability and enhanced handling even during dynamic driving.

Additionally, it is equipped with an adaptive air suspension sport system that can adjust the ground clearance up to 90mm depending on driving conditions and driver preferences, and a 'Sport Differential' that offers optimal traction and excellent handling, delivering an improved ride comfort.

Design Emphasizing the Presence of a High-Performance Model

The New Audi SQ8 TDI comes standard with SQ8 badges on the front grille and rear of the vehicle. It features an octagonal single-frame grille, roof rails, front and rear bumpers, window and side moldings all finished with a black package, creating a more sophisticated impression.

The folding, heated, and power-operated side mirrors are finished in aluminum, highlighting the characteristics of a high-performance model. The elegantly flowing roofline gives a refined and stable feel while completing a dynamic and sporty exterior. The 'HD Matrix LED Headlights' and 'LED Taillights' with dynamic turn signals provide high visibility for safer driving.

Inside the vehicle, memory, ventilation, and massage functions are applied to the front seats, with heated seats and lumbar support available for both front and rear seats. Other premium features include a D-cut multifunction leather steering wheel with shift paddles, Valcona leather sport seats embossed with the S emblem, and a Nappa leather package, all reflecting Audi’s premium sensibility and quality. Additionally, the rear folding seats provide extra cargo space, maintaining the practicality expected of a multipurpose SUV.

Safe and Convenient Driving... State-of-the-Art Safety and Convenience Features

The New Audi SQ8 TDI is equipped with advanced safety and convenience systems. It includes front and rear parking assist systems that measure the distance between the vehicle and objects on the driving path using ultrasonic sensors, and a surround view display with a 360° camera to assist with easier parking. Adaptive cruise control, which adjusts the distance from vehicles ahead and behind, is also applied to support comfortable driving.

It also features an exit warning system that detects and alerts the driver when a vehicle approaches quickly from behind or is in the blind spot, Side Assist that warns of vehicles approaching nearby, and 'Pre Sense 360°' with intersection assist system.

Moreover, the Audi smartphone interface allows drivers to access smartphone content directly, and a connectivity system controls navigation and infotainment through connections between the vehicle, driver, and network.

The price of The New Audi SQ8 TDI is 136,993,000 KRW (including VAT, based on the reduced individual consumption tax rate).
