CareLabs Goodoc Announces Entry into US Telemedicine Platform Business

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Goodoc, a subsidiary of Carelabs, a KOSDAQ-listed company, is launching its non-face-to-face medical platform business in the U.S. market.

Carelabs announced on the 2nd that it is partnering with U.S. IT company PSI International, which recently entered the final negotiation stage for a SPAC merger to list on NASDAQ, to advance its non-face-to-face medical platform business in the U.S. market.

Based on the system framework of Goodoc, the No.1 non-face-to-face medical platform in Korea, Carelabs plans to leverage the infrastructure of PSI International, which has led health, medical, and various public projects in the U.S., to aggressively target overseas markets.

PSI International, the partner company, is currently in the final negotiation stage for a NASDAQ SPAC merger to go public in the U.S. stock market. Since its founding, the company has maintained stable transactions with thousands of medical institutions under the U.S. FDA, NIH, and the Centers for Disease Control, among others, and has a rich business history in the healthcare sector targeting the U.S. government. Last year, it was also selected as one of the top 10 IT technology companies in the U.S. healthcare market.

PSI International recently undertook a comprehensive business restructuring to promote future growth businesses, adopting ‘non-face-to-face medical care,’ which has gained global attention due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as its main business sector. The main role in the new business sector will be handled by Goodoc, a subsidiary of Carelabs, which will be incorporated as a connected subsidiary.

Park Kyungdeuk, CEO of Carelabs, said, “Since last year, we have been working hard to establish a platform system optimized for full-scale overseas market entry. As we take a central role in the main business sector of PSI International, which recently underwent business restructuring, we will start with the U.S. market and actively advance the global advanced medical platform construction business.”

According to global market research firm Statista, the global telemedicine market is estimated to grow to about $35.5 billion (approximately 44 trillion KRW) this year. Since 2015, the average annual growth rate has been 14.4%, and it is expected to continue its rapid growth trend.
