Education Program for Reemployment Including Job Types for Seniors, Resume Writing, and Basic Labor Training for 30 Residents Aged 60+ at Dongjak-gu Senior Job Center on the 3rd and 10th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) will hold the "Employment Preparation Education for Seniors for Reemployment" twice starting from the 3rd of this year.
The education targets 30 job seekers aged 60 or older residing in the area, with about 15 participants per session.
The district will provide free education at the Dongjak-gu Senior Job Center (168 Jangseungbaegi-ro, Dream Tower 7th floor) ▲1st session from November 3 to 5 ▲2nd session from November 10 to 12, starting at 2 PM.
Experts from various fields such as certified labor attorneys, silver education specialists, and social workers will serve as instructors, covering ▲Day 1: preparation attitude for reemployment, exploring employment sectors for the elderly, searching for job information using mobile phones ▲Day 2: resume writing methods, interview preparation ▲Day 3: basic labor education.
Residents wishing to apply should bring their ID and visit the Dongjak-gu Senior Job Center.
After the education, counseling and job placement will be conducted at the Senior Job Center, and a satisfaction survey will be carried out to reflect on future project implementation.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, the district will strictly adhere to quarantine rules such as social distancing between trainees, installing partitions between seats, ventilation and disinfection by time slots, temperature checks, and providing hand sanitizers.
Additionally, the Dongjak-gu Senior Job Center, which opened in July, is equipped with a shared workshop and community room to ▲discover and connect senior jobs ▲provide job counseling and basic education ▲offer customized training by job type, supporting seniors in finding and securing quality jobs.
Yoon So-yeon, Director of the Job Policy Division, said, "Through this education, we will support seniors to actively respond to the rapidly changing job market," and added, "We will continue to do our best to discover customized jobs, the best welfare for seniors."
Meanwhile, the 'Dongjak-gu Senior Happiness Corporation,' established in 2015 as the first autonomous district investment and foundation nationwide, guarantees retirement up to age 73. Currently, about 160 seniors work in various fields such as ▲building cleaning services ▲childcare Santa Mom ▲handicraft production and sales.
