[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The online job information festival, ‘Illuwa (Online) Festival with Korea Sale Festa,’ will be held on the ‘Illuwa’ website from November 1 to 7.
Busan City (Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan) has broken the mold of the conventional rigid job policy promotions and introduced a new concept job festival that citizens and companies can easily understand and enjoy.
This Illuwa Festival offers job policy services such as ▲‘Illuwa Studio,’ where employment seniors and experts share employment strategies and job support systems in an engaging talk format ▲‘Illuwa Mini Documentary,’ where HR managers from innovative growth companies in strategic industries like smart finance in the Busan area provide vivid insights into working conditions, growth potential, and hiring trends ▲‘Illuwa Policy Gallery,’ where job projects from Busan City, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and public institutions can be easily accessed through videos.
Additionally, there are various side events including ▲‘Illuwa Stage,’ featuring celebrity lectures and artistic performances to provide healing and recharging for citizens exhausted by COVID-19 ▲‘Illuwa Talk Show,’ where youth and experts cheerfully discuss youth employment issues in the COVID-19 era ▲‘Illuwa Event,’ where participants can gain job policy information and win prizes through job quizzes ▲‘Illuwa Small Business Shop,’ introducing promising small business products.
This event is part of the regional industry-customized project job initiative ‘Job Renaissance, Busan,’ jointly funded by Busan City and the Ministry of Employment and Labor with a budget of 5.3 billion KRW. It is a ‘festival-type policy expo’ designed for citizens to experience and learn about various job policies. This is the fourth time the event has been held since its first launch in 2017.
This year, in response to COVID-19, the event was converted to an online format, and the saved budget of 35 million KRW was used to promote employment-linked support projects for seven small businesses.
Using 50 million KRW of national funds secured in connection with the government-wide consumption promotion event ‘Korea Sale Festa,’ event prizes composed of local small business products are also supported through the ‘Illuwa Event.’
The ‘Illuwa Small Business Shop’ corner promotes local promising small business products, providing sales promotion opportunities for local small businesses.
Park Seong-hoon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Busan City, stated, “We are making job creation the top priority of city administration and focusing all administrative power to overcome the employment crisis,” and proudly added, “This year, we received the comprehensive grand prize (Presidential Award) in the local government job policy evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.”
