For Some AirPods Pro Manufactured Before October This Year
Replacement Available If Sharp Popping or Airplane Noise Is Heard
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Apple has introduced a program that offers free replacements for the wireless earphones 'AirPods Pro' if the active noise canceling feature does not work properly or if sharp noises become louder.
On the 31st, Apple announced on its website, "We have confirmed that sound issues may occur in a very small number of AirPods Pro. These products were manufactured before October 2020," and provided information on eligible replacements.
The types of AirPods Pro with sound issues specified by Apple include ▲sharp sounds or noises becoming louder during exercise or calls in noisy environments ▲active noise canceling not functioning properly.
Since Apple applied a firmware update at the end of last year, there have been reports of popping or clicking sounds coming from the AirPods Pro. If the active noise canceling feature does not work correctly, bass may be lost or background noises such as airplane sounds may become louder.
Consumers experiencing these issues can bring their AirPods Pro to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, where eligibility for the program will be checked before the earbuds are replaced.
Apple explained, "Other AirPods models are not eligible, and a verification process is required to confirm if there is a problem," adding, "The program applies to eligible AirPods Pro models for two years from the original retail sale date."
