[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] A family residing in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do has tested positive for COVID-19.
On the 31st, according to Hampyeong-gun, Ms. A (40, female) and her two children (8 and 5 years old), who live in Hampyeong-eup, tested positive for COVID-19 and were classified as Jeonnam cases 186 to 188.
Ms. A visited a relative's house in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do on the 24th for a hospital visit, and one of the relatives she met that day was confirmed positive for COVID-19 the previous day.
Ms. A, identified as a contact, showed symptoms such as fever and underwent a COVID test. She received an inconclusive result on the first test and was confirmed positive after a second test.
The county is currently conducting mass testing on about 600 people, including five of Ms. A's coworkers, students and staff at the elementary school attended by her two children, as well as children and teachers.
All specimen collections were completed overnight, and the samples will be sent to the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute for testing within the day.
