'Why It Has to Be Biden'... Leading Media Outlets' Blatant 'Biden Support Coming Out'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] As the U.S. presidential election on November 3 approaches, major American media outlets are openly showing their political leanings by explicitly supporting Biden.

The British current affairs weekly magazine The Economist publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden in its latest cover story published on the 31st.

In an article titled "Why It Should Be Joe Biden," The Economist argued, "President Trump is inadequate not only as the head of the administration but even more so as the head of state," and stated, "He has miserably failed to fulfill his duties as the guardian of American values, the conscience of America, and the representative of America."

It further pointed out, "Over the past four years, President Trump has repeatedly undermined the values, principles, and customs that have made America a refuge for its citizens and a beacon for the world."

The article also listed reasons why Donald Trump is unfit for the presidency, including destroying democratic culture through politics catering only to his base, repeatedly lying under the guise of 'alternative facts' and showing contempt for the truth, thereby undermining the functioning of norms and institutions, and disparaging allies who enhance America's influence in the international community.

The Economist also evaluated Biden by saying, "Biden is not a miracle cure for the ailments afflicting America," but added, "He is a figure sufficient to restore stability and decorum to the White House."

Additionally, it argued that the reason to vote for Biden in the presidential election is that "Biden has the capacity to begin the long and difficult work of healing a divided nation."

Earlier, major U.S. newspapers such as The New York Times (NYT) and The Washington Post (WP) had also publicly and directly endorsed former Vice President Biden.

On the 6th of this month, NYT published an editorial titled "America, Elect Biden," asserting, "Former Vice President Biden is suitable for these uncertain times because of his experience, passion, and dignity."

On the 28th of last month, WP expressed support for Biden in an editorial titled "The President is Biden," stating, "Many voters are willing to vote to remove the worst president," and evaluated Biden as the right person to solve the problems facing America.

While many major media outlets openly support former Vice President Biden, there were also media outlets that publicly supported President Trump’s re-election by siding with him.

The New York Post (NYP), a right-leaning American newspaper, emphasized Trump’s "Make America Great Again" claim again in an editorial on the 26th, stating, "We can return to explosive job creation, wage increases, and universal prosperity," and "We can make America great again after a terrible year."
