[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, who resumed nationwide prosecutor's office tour meetings that were halted due to the novel coronavirus infection, will personally give lectures to newly appointed chief prosecutors.
Amid recent signs of collective opposition from frontline prosecutors against Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, attention is focused on what stance Prosecutor General Yoon will take in front of prosecutors regarding the current situation where he has become the subject of inspection and investigation under the minister's orders.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office announced on the 31st that Prosecutor General Yoon is scheduled to give a lecture and hold a dinner for about 30 newly appointed chief prosecutors at the Jincheon main campus of the Judicial Research and Training Institute on the 3rd of next month.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office stated that this schedule is part of the 'Chief Prosecutor Leadership' course running from the 2nd to the 5th of next month and had been confirmed well in advance.
Prosecutor General Yoon is also scheduled to give a lecture to newly appointed deputy chief prosecutors on the last day, the 11th, of the training course held from the 9th to the 11th of next month.
The Jincheon main campus of the Judicial Research and Training Institute is where Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon is currently stationed. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice ordered that despite Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon being transferred to the Jincheon main campus on the 14th, he was still working at the Yongin branch campus of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, and instructed through supervisory command regarding the workplace to 'restore the workplace to the Jincheon main campus.'
