[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] As Yang Jun-hyuk, a commentator for MBC Sports Plus who is about to get married, is being sued by his ex-girlfriend on charges of 'quasi-rape,' Yang stated, "I will hold accountable those who have made false accusations until the end," expressing his determination to confront the issue head-on.
On the 31st, Yang Jun-hyuk directly informed the public of the ongoing situation through his Instagram, saying, "There was a big commotion caused by the inappropriate behavior of a certain person, and the matter is currently under criminal litigation and pending in court."
He began by saying, "During the trial, that person has not apologized even once for the harassment, shows no remorse, and insists that they have done nothing wrong."
He continued, "Despite that person's shameless behavior, I, who have suffered significant damage, can only wait for the trial's outcome. However, I was notified by the investigative authorities that this person has filed a lawsuit against me again, accusing me of crimes related to extremely personal and private matters that could exist between lovers during the time we briefly dated."
He added, "As always, I will not avoid this but face it head-on, and I will hold those who have made false accusations fully accountable. I will make this a cautionary example that wrongful actions inevitably lead to severe consequences."
Finally, he said, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who has cared for and supported me for having to inform you again of such an unfortunate matter."
Earlier, his ex-girlfriend, Ms. A, posted on social media in September last year a revealing post with Yang Jun-hyuk's photo, stating, "The image seen on broadcasts. The fan service image. The hidden true nature behind this seemingly naive image." Ms. A also hinted at further revelations about Yang Jun-hyuk.
In response, Yang Jun-hyuk revealed on the same day on social media that Ms. A was his ex-girlfriend and urged fans, "Please watch closely until the end, and I will do my best to confront this head-on so that you do not lose trust in me."
Yang Jun-hyuk filed a complaint against Ms. A with the police for defamation and threats, and the case has been sent to prosecution with an indictment recommendation and is currently under trial.
Meanwhile, Yang Jun-hyuk is set to marry jazz singer Park Hyun-sun, who is 19 years his junior, on December 26.
