The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on the day, the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 127, bringing the total to 26,511. Among the 127 new cases, 96 were locally transmitted and 31 were imported. By region, Seoul reported 51 cases, Gyeonggi 23, Daegu 9, Chungnam 4, and Incheon and Sejong each reported 3 confirmed cases.

The number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases has recorded triple digits for four consecutive days: 103 on the 28th, 125 on the 29th, and 113 on the 30th. Although new cases had once dropped to the 40s earlier this month, sporadic infections have continued in various places, causing daily numbers to fluctuate around 100. With ongoing cluster infections in everyday spaces, the CDCH is on alert as the 'Halloween Day' on this day could become a new catalyst for the spread of COVID-19.

The number of imported confirmed cases was 31, an increase of 10 from the previous day (21). Among the confirmed cases, 25 were identified during quarantine inspections at airports or ports of entry, and the remaining 6 tested positive while self-isolating at their residences or temporary living facilities.

The number of COVID-19 deaths increased by 1 from the previous day, totaling 464. The number of confirmed cases released from isolation increased by 84 on this day, bringing the cumulative total to 24,311.

Meanwhile, the CDCH revised the number of new confirmed cases as of midnight the previous day from 114 to 113. This was due to one individual initially classified as a confirmed case in the Seoul area ultimately testing negative.
