The cumulative number of COVID-19 patients in the U.S. also reached 9,007,300. It increased by 1 million in just 14 days after surpassing 8 million on the 16th of this month. This was the fastest increase of 1 million since COVID-19 began spreading seriously in the U.S. last March.
CNN, citing statistics from Johns Hopkins University, reported that the number of new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. over the past week reached 536,131, the highest since the pandemic began.
The states where COVID-19 has recently spread prominently in the U.S. are Illinois and North Carolina. Both states are currently recording their highest number of new confirmed cases ever.
The situation in Italy, where large-scale COVID-19 outbreaks occurred in Europe, is also worsening day by day.
