[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 30th at 5 p.m., Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, attended the ‘Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation Happiness Scholarship Award Ceremony’ held in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Gangseo Lifelong Learning Center, where he cheered and encouraged the students.

Mayor Noh said, “I hope this scholarship will serve as a stepping stone for students to focus more on their studies,” and added, “The district will continue to implement various educational policies to help students pursue their dreams.”

The Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation awarded a Happiness Scholarship of 1 million won each to a total of 24 students, including 15 high school students and 9 university students in the region who have excellent academic records or serve as role models.

The scholarship was prepared to encourage students’ studies and alleviate their financial burdens amid the prolonged economic difficulties caused by COVID-19.

Established in 2001, the Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation carries out various scholarship projects, including full tuition support, providing educational opportunities to underprivileged groups, and awarding scholarships to students who participate in talent donation activities.

Since its establishment, the foundation has awarded a cumulative scholarship amount of approximately 1.43 billion won to 1,104 elementary, middle, high school, and university students in the region.
