Gwangyang Jungang Library Operates Youth Webtoon Program

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang Central Library is operating a 'Webtoon Drawing Program Course' using mobile phones for local youth.

The 'Webtoon Drawing Program Course' is designed for youth to install an app on their personal mobile phones and complete their own works through practical exercises such as story and storyboard creation, sketching, inking, coloring, and adding dialogue and effects, followed by a presentation of their finished work.

This course, held twice a week for a total of 8 sessions from the 18th of next month to December 12, will be taught by artist Lee Hye-ju from Suncheon Global Webtoon Center, and will take place every Wednesday and Saturday.

The lectures will be conducted face-to-face with a limited number of students to prevent COVID-19 and to ensure smooth communication between the instructor and each student due to the nature of the course.

Ten middle and high school students from the district will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications can be made from the 4th of next month through the Gwangyang City Library website or Gwangyang Central Library.

Ko Geun-seong, Director of Library Operations, said, "The Central Library was selected as the operating institution for the '2020 Youth Program' announced by Jeollanam-do," and added, "We will continue to discover and operate various programs for our youth, such as this webtoon course."
